WhatsApp Reportedly to Add Document Scanning Feature Soon

by Hameed

WhatsApp is developing a new document scanning feature for iPhone users. This new tool will let users scan documents directly using their phone’s camera, without needing a separate app.

The scanning feature will have two options: manual and automatic. In manual mode, users can take the photo of the document themselves. In automatic mode, the app will detect the edges of the document and capture it instantly without the user needing to press anything.

After scanning, WhatsApp will turn the image into a PDF file. Users will then be able to share the scanned document right away with their contacts, either in individual chats or group conversations.

This new feature is expected to make sharing documents quicker and easier, especially for students, professionals, and anyone who frequently sends paperwork through WhatsApp.

Although the feature is currently being tested for iOS (iPhone), Meta, the company behind WhatsApp, also plans to bring it to Android devices in the future. This means that users across both platforms will be able to enjoy a similar and smooth experience.

At the moment, the document scanning feature is still under development and not yet available to the public. However, it’s expected to roll out soon in an upcoming update.

This update is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to improve its app and add useful features that help users manage their daily tasks more efficiently. Once released, it will be a convenient way to scan, save, and send important documents directly from within WhatsApp.
