Sindh Govt Approves Rs. 10.56 Billion Interest-Free Loan to Provide Water to DНА

The Sindh government has approved an interest-free loan of Rs. 10.56 billion to help solve the growing water crisis in Karachi’s DHA area.

The decision was made during a provincial cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Under this project, a 36-kilometre-long pipeline will be built from Dumlottee to DHA. The plan also includes the construction of a pumping station and a water filtration plant.

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has been given the responsibility to complete this project within 11 months.

Currently, residents of DHA only receive around 4 to 5 million gallons of water per day (MGD), which is much lower than the actual demand. Many families face daily difficulties due to water shortages, and some are forced to buy water from tankers at high prices.

This project aims to improve the water supply system and provide long-term relief to the people living in DHA. The government hopes that once the project is complete, water availability in the area will significantly increase.

The initiative is part of larger efforts by the Sindh government to fix infrastructure problems in Karachi and provide reliable services to its growing population.

By investing in better water pipelines, pumping systems, and filtration, the government wants to ensure that clean water reaches more homes without delay or extra cost.

This move shows the government’s commitment to solving essential issues like water supply and improving the quality of life for Karachi’s residents.
