Sui Northern to Launch Rs. 1 Billion Subsidiary with Rs. 1 Billion Authorized Capital

by Hameed

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced the launch of a new fully owned subsidiary with an authorized capital of Rs1 billion. This decision was made during the company’s 638ᵗʰ board meeting, held on June 25, 2025.

The new company will begin its operations with an initial paid-up capital of Rs50 million. In a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), SNGPL confirmed that any costs related to registering the new subsidiary will be covered by the subsidiary itself once it is officially formed.

SNGPL is a major public limited company responsible for the transmission and distribution of natural gas throughout Pakistan. By setting up this new entity, the company aims to strengthen and expand its overall business structure.

While details about the new company’s operations have not yet been shared, industry experts believe this step could help SNGPL diversify its business activities and improve efficiency. It also shows the company’s focus on long-term growth and better management.

Creating a separate subsidiary allows for more targeted decision-making and flexibility, which can support new projects or investments. It may also open doors to partnerships or ventures in other energy-related sectors.

This move is seen as a strategic effort to adapt to changing market needs and energy challenges in the country.
