In Rawalpindi, a gas consumer named Raja Allah Ditta was stunned to receive a massive gas bill of Rs12 million from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). The shocking amount has sparked anger among residents, who see it as an example of poor management and negligence by the gas company.
Raja Allah Ditta, who lives in Dhamial, had not paid his gas bills for the past four months due to financial difficulties. When he received this huge bill, he went to the SNGPL office to complain. Instead of getting help, he says he was told he must pay the full amount as shown.
In a video message, Raja Allah Ditta explained that he cannot afford to pay such a huge sum and appealed for help to fix this unfair situation.
Responding to the matter, an SNGPL spokesperson admitted that the bill looks incorrect and could be due to a clerical error. The spokesperson confirmed that the company has started an investigation to find out how such a large bill was issued.
The gas company has promised that a new bill will be issued once the probe is completed. They assured the public that the mistake will be fixed and that the customer will not be forced to pay for something he does not owe.
This incident has raised concerns about how billing errors are handled and whether consumers are being treated fairly by utility companies. Many people are now asking for better checks to prevent such mistakes in the future.
