The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh forecast predicting more rain and thunderstorms in different parts of the country in the coming days.
From July 27 onwards, areas like Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to see heavy rainfall at intervals. Following this, more rain is likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Islamabad between July 28 and July 31.
Southern Balochistan and various areas in Sindh — including Karachi, Thatta, and Hyderabad — could also receive rain from July 29 to July 31.
Due to the expected heavy downpours, the PMD has warned about possible flash floods in streams and rivers, especially in hilly and low-lying areas. Landslides may occur in regions such as Murree, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. In major cities, rainwater could cause urban flooding, affecting roads and daily life.
People living in vulnerable areas have been asked to stay cautious and follow safety instructions during the rainy spell. Farmers, travelers, and people in flood-prone places should remain alert and protect their belongings from any possible damage.
The PMD has also advised local authorities and disaster management teams to stay prepared to handle any emergencies and help people in case of floods or landslides.
Citizens are encouraged to keep checking official weather updates and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities when the rain is heavy.
These rain spells may continue for a few days, so it is important for everyone to stay careful and look out for their neighbors and communities.
