British Pakistani mountaineer Nadia Azad has achieved another historic milestone by successfully climbing Mount Manaslu (8,163 meters) in Nepal on September 26. With this achievement, she has now become only the second Pakistani woman ever to scale four mountains higher than 8,000 meters.
Manaslu adds to her impressive list of climbs, which already includes Annapurna I, Mount Everest and Lhotse. Each of these peaks is considered among the most challenging in the world, making her accomplishments stand out as an inspiration not only for Pakistan but also for the global mountaineering community.
Nadia’s success is not limited to 8,000-meter summits. She has also completed the famous Seven Summits challenge which involves climbing the tallest mountain on each continent. By raising Pakistan’s flag on all these peaks, she has brought pride and recognition to her country on an international stage.
In addition to being a mountaineer, Nadia is also a marathon runner, showing her passion for endurance sports across multiple fields. Her determination and strength highlight the power of resilience and focus when pursuing goals that may seem impossible to many.
Speaking about her climb, Nadia emphasized the values that mountaineering teaches. “The mountain demands respect, patience, and humility,” she said, adding that her journey is about more than just personal success, it is about breaking barriers, pushing human limits, and representing Pakistani women in fields where they are often underrepresented.
Through her dedication and courage, Nadia Azad continues to inspire young women across the world to dream bigger and chase challenges without fear.
