Internet Speed Restored after Completion of Undersea Cable Repair: PTCL

by Mahnoor Arif

Internet services across Pakistan have finally returned to normal after the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) completed repair work on an undersea cable that had disrupted connectivity nationwide.

According to PTCL, the fault was caused by a malfunction in a repeater, one of the key components responsible for maintaining stable data transmission across long distances. The issue had slowed down internet speed and affected popular platforms, including social media, streaming services, and communication apps.

The repair operation began on October 14 and was carried out by the International Cable Consortium, which manages several major global undersea networks. After days of technical efforts, the problem was resolved successfully, restoring internet stability across the country.

PTCL confirmed that all services are now functioning smoothly, and users have reported noticeable improvements in speed and reliability. The company has also assured customers that enhanced monitoring systems are being put in place to detect and address such faults more quickly in the future.

The restoration brings major relief to individuals, businesses, and online services that depend heavily on uninterrupted internet access for work, study, and daily communication, ending days of frustration for millions of users.
