by Mahnoor Arif

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are set to begin a new police and paramilitary training exchange program, marking a major step forward in their long-standing security partnership. The agreement was reached during a meeting in Riyadh between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif.

Both leaders highlighted the importance of stronger cooperation in today’s changing security environment. They agreed that the exchange program will help improve the skills, discipline, and readiness of police and paramilitary forces in both countries. Through this initiative, officers and trainees will be able to learn from each other’s expertise in countering modern security challenges.

The program will focus on several key areas, including capacity building, advanced training techniques, information sharing, and joint strategies to respond to emerging threats. This partnership aims to improve the ability of both nations to deal with issues such as organized crime, smu*ggling, cyber challenges, and border security concerns.

Officials also stressed that the exchange program will deepen trust and understanding between the two countries. With stronger coordination, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia hope to create faster, more effective responses during emergency situations.

The initiative reflects the growing commitment of both nations to regional stability, safety, and long-term cooperation. It is expected that the training exchange will not only benefit law enforcement agencies but also strengthen the overall security ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the years ahead.
