Leaving Home Behind! Over 615,000 Pakistanis Left Country to Work Abroad in Just 10 Months

A large number of Pakistanis continued to move overseas for better job opportunities this year. In the first 10 months of 2025, more than 615,000 people left the country to work abroad. This shows a major increase in manpower exports, even though visa rules have become stricter and many passengers face offloading at airports.

Saudi Arabia remained the top choice for Pakistani workers. Around 431,545 Pakistanis travelled there for jobs in construction, services, driving, and other sectors. Qatar and the UAE also took thousands of workers, offering opportunities in hospitality, security, transport, and technical fields.

Highly skilled professionals, including engineers, IT experts, doctors, and graduates, preferred the UK and the US. These countries are looking for advanced skills, but the competition is tough. Workers must meet high standards, pass difficult tests, and submit detailed documentation.

However, the journey is not easy for everyone. Many jobseekers are struggling with tighter visa checks, complicated paperwork, and new certification rules. Higher rejection rates have increased frustration among applicants. Offloading at airports has also become more common, causing people to lose money on travel, recruitment fees, and training.

Experts warn that many workers face financial risks due to skill mismatches. Sometimes, job promises do not match the actual work abroad, leaving workers disappointed and stressed.

Despite the challenges, Pakistanis continue to seek opportunities overseas for better salaries, improved living conditions, and financial stability for their families. The growing numbers show that foreign employment remains a major hope for many in the country.
