Pakistan has successfully delivered 52 Super Mushshak trainer aircraft to the Turkish Air Force, marking an important step in defense cooperation between the two countries. The aircraft have been produced by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, also known as PAC, and will be used to strengthen Türkiye’s basic pilot training system.
The Super Mushshak is a lightweight trainer aircraft designed for early-stage flight training. It is based on the Swedish Saab MFI 15 design and is powered by a single engine. The aircraft can seat two to three people and is known for its reliability, ease of handling, and low operating cost. One of its key advantages is its ability to operate from short and unprepared runways, making it suitable for diverse training environments.
According to available details, the aircraft will mainly be assigned to the 123rd Squadron at Izmir Cigli Air Base. Some units will also be deployed with the 126th Squadron operating in Istanbul and Yalova. These new trainers will replace older aircraft models such as the T-41 and the SF-260D, which have been in service for many years.
