Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has once again underlined the deep and lasting bond between Turkey and Pakistan, calling Pakistan a true and sincere ally whose friendship will continue until the Day of Judgment. His remarks came during a ceremony held for the induction of modern naval platforms, a moment that highlighted growing defense and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
At the event, President Erdoğan formally handed over the advanced warship PNS Khyber to the Pakistan Navy. The induction of this vessel marks an important milestone in bilateral defense ties and reflects years of close coordination between Turkish and Pakistani defense industries. Erdoğan said such cooperation is not driven by short-term interests, but by shared history, trust, and brotherhood.
He also spoke in detail about the ongoing MILGEM class warship project, a flagship defense initiative between the two nations. Under this program, PNS Babur has already been delivered to Pakistan. Erdoğan confirmed that PNS Badr is expected to join the Pakistan Navy by June 2026, while PNS Tariq is scheduled for delivery in early 2027. These vessels are designed with modern combat systems and are expected to significantly enhance Pakistan’s maritime capabilities.
President Erdoğan stressed that the new warships will play a vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s naval defense and securing its maritime borders. He added that Turkey will continue to stand by Pakistan in all fields, including defense, trade, and diplomacy.
Reaffirming the emotional and strategic depth of the relationship, Erdoğan described Turkey-Pakistan ties as brotherly, unbreakable, and destined to grow stronger with time. His statement resonated strongly in Pakistan, reflecting a partnership rooted in mutual respect, faith, and long-standing solidarity.
