Heavy Rain Forecast Across Pakistan from April 2 to 4

by Mahnoor Arif

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast heavy rain, strong winds, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms across many parts of the country from April 2 to April 4, 2026.

A westerly weather system is approaching and will bring wet weather starting from Balochistan on the evening of April 2. It will then spread to other provinces with occasional breaks until April 4.

Heavy rainfall is expected in several areas of Balochistan, including Quetta, Khuzdar, Turbat, Gwadar, Pasni, Lasbela, Zhob, Kalat, and Chaman. In Sindh, cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Thatta, Badin, and Tharparkar will receive rain with chances of hailstorms.

Punjab and Islamabad may see thunderstorms and hail, especially in Rawalpindi, Murree, and Dera Ghazi Khan. Rain and snowfall are likely in mountainous regions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The PMD has issued warnings for possible flash floods in northeastern Balochistan, hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, and local streams in KP. Landslides may occur in upper KP, GB, and AJK. Strong winds and hail could damage weak structures, billboards, solar panels, and standing crops.

Farmers, travellers, and local authorities have been advised to stay alert. People living in low-lying areas and near nullahs should take extra care.

The Met Office urged everyone to avoid unnecessary travel during the rainy spell and follow safety instructions from local administration. This weather will bring relief from heat but may cause temporary disruptions in daily life.
