Pakistan Hockey Team’s Participation in FIH Pro League Uncertain Amid Financial Crisis

by Hameed

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) might not be able to take part in the upcoming FIH Pro Hockey League because of serious financial problems. Although the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has officially invited Pakistan to join, PHF needs to reply by Friday, June 27. However, sources say that more than Rs 500 million is needed for the team to participate.

If Pakistan fails to join the league, it could face heavy penalties or even a ban, as taking part is mandatory. The FIH Pro League includes the top hockey teams from around the world and is considered very important for improving rankings. Pakistan is currently ranked 17th globally, and being part of this league could help them move up.

Missing out again could be damaging. The last time Pakistan didn’t participate, it badly affected the team’s global ranking. Hockey officials are now warning that if funds are not arranged quickly, the sport in Pakistan could suffer even more on the international stage.

The situation is urgent, and PHF is looking for financial support to make sure the team can represent Pakistan. Fans and experts believe that taking part in such international events is key to reviving Pakistan’s hockey legacy and gaining back its lost glory.

With the deadline fast approaching, the hockey community is hoping for a quick solution so the team doesn’t miss another chance to compete at the highest level.
