Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Azerbaijan on Thursday to attend the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit, which is being held in Khankendi from July 3 to 4. The summit’s theme is “New ECO Vision for a Sustainable and Climate Resilient Future,” and it brings together leaders from across the region.
During the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz will represent Pakistan and share the country’s views on major global and regional challenges. He is expected to highlight the need for stronger trade between ECO member countries and emphasize the importance of fair climate solutions for all nations.
The summit provides a platform to discuss ways to boost economic cooperation, improve transport links, and address climate change together. PM Shehbaz is also scheduled to hold meetings with other leaders attending the summit. These talks will focus on strengthening Pakistan’s ties with fellow member countries and exploring opportunities for future partnerships.
Officials say that Pakistan aims to play a more active role in ECO’s goals of regional development and cooperation. The Prime Minister’s participation shows Pakistan’s commitment to building a more connected, climate-aware, and economically strong region.
