Fitness Certificate Now Mandatory for Motorcycles After Cars

by Hameed

The Punjab government has taken another step to make roads safer by adding motorcycles to the list of vehicles that must have a fitness certificate. Just like private cars, all bikes in Punjab will now have to pass a technical inspection to get a one-year certificate proving they are safe to use.

This decision was given the green light by the Punjab Cabinet, which has changed the law to make it official. Now, the Transport Department is getting ready to roll out this new rule across the province.

The main goal is to ensure that motorcycles stay in good working condition so they do not become a danger to other people on the road. Since thousands of people rely on bikes every day, keeping them fit and safe is very important for road safety.

Along with this, the Punjab government is also taking strict action against the illegal installation of LPG cylinders in public transport. Using poor-quality or unauthorized LPG cylinders puts passengers at great risk, so officials are determined to stop this practice.

For this reason, special teams have been sent out to check big bus stands and terminals. They are also inspecting workshops that make or install unsafe LPG setups. The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) is fully involved in these checks to make sure all rules are being followed.

With these new measures, the Punjab government hopes to lower the number of accidents, keep vehicles in good condition, and protect passengers from dangerous fuel systems.
