Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to see the damage caused by the recent heavy rains.
He carried out an aerial survey along with Field Marshal General Asim Munir. During the visit, General Munir appreciated the tireless work of Pakistan Army personnel who are helping families affected by the floods.
In Buner, General Asim Munir addressed the people and highlighted that protecting citizens and providing timely relief remain the top priority. He directed army formations to stay fully committed to their duties and make sure no effort is left behind in helping displaced and distressed communities.
At the same time, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced an additional fund of Rs. 2 billion to strengthen flood relief operations. This support will be used for emergency needs, food supplies, and assistance for families who lost their homes and belongings in the disaster.
Officials have underlined that both immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation are being treated as urgent matters. Civilian authorities and the military are working closely together to reduce the suffering of people affected by the disaster. Relief teams are providing shelter, food, and medical care to ensure families are not left helpless in this critical time.
The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to stand with the flood-hit communities until their lives return to normal. He stressed that the combined efforts of all institutions are necessary to bring stability and relief to the affected areas.
This visit reflects the seriousness of both the government and the army in addressing the challenges caused by the floods.
