$1 Billion Worth of Dr_ugs Seized by Pakistan Navy in Arabian Sea

Pakistan Navy has scored a massive victory in the fight against international drug trafficking. In what’s being called one of the largest drug busts in Combined Maritime Forces history, Pakistan Navy ship PNS Yarmook intercepted and seized drugs worth nearly $1 billion during a major operation in the Arabian Sea.

The operation unfolded rapidly over just 48 hours. During this intense period, the highly trained crew of PNS Yarmook successfully intercepted two suspicious dhow boats operating in international waters.

What they discovered on board was staggering: over 2 tons of crystal meth, an additional 350 kilograms of regular meth, and 50 kilograms of cocaine. The sheer quantity represents a significant blow to international drug trafficking networks that use sea routes to move their illegal products.

To put the $1 billion value in perspective, that’s an enormous amount of narcotics that would have flooded markets across multiple countries, destroying countless lives and funding criminal organizations. By stopping these drugs at sea, the Pakistan Navy prevented immeasurable harm to communities worldwide.

The operation wasn’t conducted in isolation. It took place under the coordination of Saudi-led Task Force 150, which focuses on maritime security and counter-narcotics operations in the region. This demonstrates the importance of international cooperation in fighting transnational crimes like drug smuggling.

This successful bust highlights Pakistan’s strong commitment to regional maritime security and global counter-narcotics efforts. The Pakistan Navy continues to play a crucial role in keeping Arabian Sea shipping lanes safe and disrupting criminal networks that exploit maritime routes for illegal activities.

It’s a reminder that Pakistan’s security forces are actively contributing to international peace and safety.
