The World Bank has approved funding of Rs. 58 million for the third reconstruction of Queen’s Park in Karachi. The initiative is part of the Competitive and Livable City of Karachi (CLICK) project, launched in collaboration with the Sindh government to enhance urban infrastructure and public spaces.

Located near Ziauddin Hospital in Clifton, Queen’s Park is a popular recreational spot that will now undergo major upgrades to improve accessibility and facilities for all visitors. The new design includes modern walking tracks, children’s play zones, and dedicated spaces for women and people with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity and safety for families and individuals alike.

According to city officials, this reconstruction project focuses on sustainability and community engagement. They emphasized that maintaining such public spaces requires active participation from local residents to ensure long-term upkeep and environmental care.

The renovation of Queen’s Park is expected to not only provide residents with a greener, cleaner environment but also contribute to Karachi’s broader goal of becoming a more livable and eco-friendly city.

With the World Bank’s support and local collaboration, the project represents another step toward revitalizing Karachi’s public spaces and improving the city’s overall urban landscape for its growing population.
