Aik by BankIslami Launches Sahriah-Complaint QR Payment Campaign for Cashless Transactions in Karachi

by Mahnoor Arif

In a step toward promoting digital and cashless payments in Pakistan, Aik by BankIslami has launched a Shariah-compliant QR Payment Activation Campaign at Creek Walk Food Street, Karachi. The campaign, which runs from November 7 to 16, 2025, aims to make digital payments simple, secure, and accessible for both merchants and customers.

The initiative supports the Go Cashless Economy Drive introduced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the State Bank of Pakistan. It highlights Aik’s ongoing commitment to providing interest-free, Shariah-compliant digital banking solutions that meet modern financial needs while staying true to Islamic principles.

With Aik QR payments, shopkeepers and small business owners can now receive instant digital payments from customers directly through their smartphones. This system eliminates the need for cash handling, reduces transaction risks, and improves business efficiency.

Speaking about the campaign, Ashfaque Ahmed, Chief Officer at Aik, said, “This initiative brings digital transformation to everyday commerce. Merchants can now receive instant, secure payments, supporting Pakistan’s vision for a cashless economy.”

The campaign also features on-ground demonstrations and training sessions for local vendors to help them adopt the technology smoothly.

By encouraging digital payments, Aik by BankIslami is playing a key role in advancing Pakistan’s financial inclusion goals and helping build a future where cashless, secure, and Shariah-compliant transactions become the new normal for businesses and consumers alike.
