Punjab authorities have deported more than 31,000 Afghan and other illegal foreign residents as part of a large-scale nationwide operation. The repatriation effort aims to manage immigration and maintain law and order across the province.

According to a spokesperson from Punjab Police, 31,377 individuals have been deported so far. The group includes 11,576 men, 6,679 women, and 13,133 children, highlighting that families are also affected by the operation. Currently, 203 illegal immigrants remain at holding points while authorities process their cases.

Among those deported, 10,043 individuals had valid residency documents, 11,067 held Afghan Citizen Cards, and 10,267 were illegal residents without proper documentation. These measures show the authorities’ strict monitoring of immigration and border security.

To manage the process efficiently, the Punjab Police have set up five holding centers in Lahore and 46 across the province, ensuring proper shelter and documentation before deportation. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar confirmed that security remains on high alert to facilitate smooth operations and prevent any disruptions.

Officials emphasized that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to regulate illegal immigration, ensure public safety, and strengthen provincial security measures. The authorities also urged legal residents and foreign nationals to comply with immigration laws to avoid penalties.

This large-scale deportation reflects Pakistan’s continued focus on managing migration effectively, balancing humanitarian concerns with security priorities. The authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and plan further measures to address illegal residency in the country.
