Pakistan and China have strengthened their educational and cultural ties with the inauguration of the Pakistan Study Centre at Shandong University. The centre was officially opened by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, along with senior officials from the university, marking a new chapter in academic collaboration between the two countries.

The Pakistan Study Centre will focus on promoting Pakistan-related studies, including its history, culture, politics, and economy. It will also facilitate research projects, student exchanges, and collaborative programs to encourage mutual understanding. Special attention will be given to sectors like agriculture and fisheries, reflecting areas of strategic interest and shared expertise between Pakistan and China.

Ambassador Khalil Hashmi highlighted that the initiative aims to enhance people-to-people connections, strengthen bilateral ties, and provide students and researchers with opportunities to learn more about Pakistan’s socio-economic development and cultural heritage. University officials emphasized that the centre would serve as a hub for academic cooperation, fostering dialogue, joint publications, and knowledge exchange.

The centre is expected to host seminars, workshops, and conferences, bringing together scholars, students, and business leaders from both countries. It will also support collaborative research projects and policy studies that can inform bilateral trade, investment, and development initiatives.

Experts note that such academic initiatives play a critical role in deepening understanding and cooperation, going beyond formal diplomacy. By creating a platform for learning and research, the Pakistan Study Centre at Shandong University not only highlights the strong ties between Pakistan and China but also opens new avenues for educational, cultural, and economic collaboration.

The establishment of this centre reflects both countries’ commitment to long-term partnership and shared growth through education and research.
