Pakistan to Attend First Gaza Board of Peace Summit on 19 Feb Chaired by Trump

by Mahnoor Arif

Pakistan is set to participate in the inaugural meeting of the Gaza Board of Peace, scheduled for February 19 in Washington, D.C., with U.S. President Donald Trump set to chair the summit, diplomatic sources said. The invitation from the United States has been formally accepted, and Pakistan is expected to be represented by either the prime minister or the deputy prime minister.

The Board of Peace is a newly formed international body focused on advancing peace and stability in Gaza, implementing a ceasefire, improving humanitarian access, and planning for post-conflict reconstruction. Officials from various countries will attend, with the meeting also expected to help shape the board’s structure, mandate, and future work.

Pakistan’s participation reflects its long-standing diplomatic stance on the Palestinian issue and its support for international efforts to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Islamabad has consistently called for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian assistance, and a political process rooted in international law and United Nations resolutions.

The summit comes amid ongoing global concern over the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, where shortages of food, medicine, and shelter remain severe following prolonged conflict. Analysts say the meeting could provide a platform for coordinated international action on peace, reconstruction, and broader regional stability.

By attending the first Board of Peace summit, Pakistan aims to reaffirm its support for Palestinian rights and contribute constructively to discussions on how to secure a lasting peace and sustainable future for the people of Gaza.
