Students from the Girls Section of TABS College of Science in Hyderabad have created an innovative device called Nebulavolt, which turns fog into electricity. Their project won the ninth cycle of Enterprise Challenge Pakistan, earning national recognition for its creativity and practical use.
Nebulavolt is specially designed for areas that experience heavy fog. The low-cost device uses a special mesh to capture fog from the air. As the fog turns into water droplets, the system converts this moisture into clean and usable electricity. This makes it an environmentally friendly solution that does not rely on traditional power sources.
The electricity produced by the device can be used to power streetlights, traffic signals, and other roadside systems. This can greatly improve visibility during foggy conditions, helping reduce road accidents and improve overall safety. At the same time, it can lower energy costs and support the use of renewable power in public infrastructure.
The project highlights the talent and potential of young students in Pakistan, showing how youth-led innovation can contribute to smart cities, cleaner energy, and safer highways. The national final of Enterprise Challenge Pakistan was held in Karachi on January 24, where the team’s idea stood out among many competitors.
