Punjab Launches First Ever ‘Talk to CM’ Portal for Direct Public Suggestions

by Mahnoor Arif

The Government of Punjab has introduced a new digital platform titled “Talk to CM,” designed to allow citizens to share ideas and feedback directly with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The portal was digitally inaugurated in Lahore as part of efforts to increase public participation in governance.

The initiative provides a structured online interface where individuals aged 20 and above can submit suggestions related to development projects, public services, and policy matters. Users are required to enter basic personal details to ensure transparency and constructive engagement.

Officials say the move aligns with the provincial government’s focus on 2026 as the “Year of Youth.” By encouraging young people to contribute ideas, the administration aims to build a stronger connection between policymakers and the public.

Authorities believe that involving citizens directly in decision making can help improve service delivery and ensure that government programs reflect real community needs.

Digital governance tools have increasingly become part of public administration across Pakistan, with provinces adopting online complaint systems and feedback portals.

The “Talk to CM” platform expands this approach by shifting the focus from complaints to proactive suggestions and innovation.

Government representatives describe the portal as a step toward open governance, where citizens are not just recipients of policies but active participants in shaping them.

If effectively implemented and monitored, the initiative could strengthen accountability and foster greater trust between the public and provincial leadership.
