Babar Azam Gets Relief as Lahore High Court Cancels Order to Register Harassment Case

by Mahnoor Arif

Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam has received big relief from the Lahore High Court. On March 3, 2026, Justice Asjad Gharal accepted Babar’s petition and cancelled an earlier order from a sessions court. That order had asked police to register a harassment case against him.

The case started in 2018 when a woman named Hamiza Mukhtar filed a complaint. She accused Babar of harassment and said he had promised marriage but later backed out. Babar’s lawyer told the High Court that the complaint was false and had been made only to demand money from him. They said the sessions court did not follow proper legal steps before ordering an FIR (First Information Report).

After hearing both sides, the high court said the lower court’s decision was wrong. The judge declared the order null and void, meaning no harassment case will be registered against Babar Azam now. This ends a long legal matter that had been hanging over the cricketer for many years.

Fans and cricket lovers welcomed the news on social media. Many wrote “Finally justice” and “Babar is innocent.” Babar Azam has stayed focused on his game and never spoke much about the case in public. His lawyer said this decision clears his name and allows him to play without any extra worry.
