Kuwait’s Airport Att@cked by Drone, Fuel Tanks Caught F!re

by Mahnoor Arif

Kuwait International Airport was hit by an Iranian drone attack on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. The strike targeted fuel storage tanks and caused a large fire, according to Kuwait’s civil aviation authority.

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation said hostile drones struck the fuel depots run by the Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company (KAFCO). A massive blaze broke out at the site, causing significant material damage. Emergency teams quickly reached the area to control the fire. Officials confirmed there were no casualties.

Spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi described the attack as “blatant” and blamed Iran and its supported armed groups. The fuel tanks are an important part of airport operations that supply jet fuel to planes. The fire created thick smoke and raised safety concerns at the busy airport.

This incident is part of the wider conflict that started in late February 2026 between the US-Israel alliance and Iran. Iran has launched several drone and missile attacks on Gulf countries that host American military bases. Similar incidents were reported in Bahrain and other areas on the same day.

Kuwait has strongly condemned the attack. Airport operations were not fully stopped, but authorities are checking safety measures.

The event has increased worries about the safety of civilian airports and energy facilities across the Gulf region. Experts say such strikes can affect air travel and raise global oil prices if they continue
