Honda has officially announced its full works partnership with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team for the 2026 Formula One season. The announcement was made at a special event in Tokyo and marks Honda’s return to Formula One as a power unit supplier under the sport’s new hybrid engine regulations.

During the launch, Honda highlighted its long and successful history in Formula One and reaffirmed its strong focus on innovation, electrification, and sustainability. The company introduced its new power unit, named the RA626H, which has been developed to meet the next generation of F1 rules. Honda emphasized that the engine reflects its commitment to advanced hybrid technology and the use of sustainable fuels, aligning with both motorsport and environmental goals.

Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali welcomed Honda’s return to the sport, calling it an important moment as F1 continues to grow worldwide. He noted that Honda’s expertise and technological strength support Formula One’s long-term vision, especially its push toward sustainability and cleaner energy solutions.

Aston Martin chairman Lawrence Stroll described the partnership as a fully integrated works alliance rather than a simple supplier relationship. He explained that both companies will work closely together, sharing technology, knowledge, and resources. With state-of-the-art facilities, long-term planning, and a shared ambition, the partnership aims to compete at the highest level and challenge for championships in the coming seasons.

Overall, the Honda–Aston Martin collaboration signals a major step toward the future of Formula One, combining performance, innovation, and sustainability under the new 2026 regulations.
