German Chancellor has expressed strong hope for the success of the upcoming peace talks between the United States and Iran, which are scheduled to be held in Islamabad.

In a statement, the German Chancellor said Germany is in direct contact with Iranian officials and is closely following the developments. He described the Islamabad talks as a very important opportunity for de-escalation in the Middle East.

“We are in direct contact with Iran and remain hopeful for a successful outcome of the Islamabad talks,” the Chancellor said.

Germany believes that the talks, hosted and mediated by Pakistan, can help convert the current two-week ceasefire into a more permanent and stable agreement. The Chancellor appreciated Pakistan’s active role in bringing both sides to the negotiating table.

The German leader also stressed the need for all parties to show flexibility and work towards long-term peace in the region. He particularly mentioned the importance of addressing the situation in Lebanon and ensuring the safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The upcoming talks in Islamabad are being seen as a crucial moment. The United States will be represented by a high-level delegation led by Vice President JD Vance, while Iran is also sending a senior team.

Germany’s positive statement shows growing international support for Pakistan’s mediation efforts and raises hopes for a peaceful resolution to the recent tensions.
