Multan Sultans batted first in the crucial Eliminator 1 match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 against Hyderabad Kingsmen on Wednesday.
The Sultans managed to score 159 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their full quota of 20 overs. They set a target of 160 runs for the Hyderabad Kingsmen.
Captain Shan Masood was the standout performer for Multan Sultans. He played a fighting knock and remained not out on 69 runs off 46 balls. His innings gave some stability to the batting lineup when wickets were falling from the other end.
However, the rest of the Multan Sultans batters failed to deliver. The middle order could not build meaningful partnerships, which put extra pressure on the captain. The team struggled to accelerate in the death overs and finished with a below-par total.
Hyderabad Kingsmen’s bowlers dominated the proceedings. Hunain Shah, Akif Javed, and Mohammad Ali each picked up two wickets and kept the Sultans’ batters under check throughout the innings.
Multan Sultans will now be hoping that their total of 159 proves challenging enough for Hyderabad Kingsmen, who are currently batting in the second innings with plenty of overs remaining.
This match is extremely important for both teams as the winner will advance to the next stage of the tournament.
