Pakistan to Launch First Ever Professional Franchise Volleyball League

by Mahnoor Arif

Pakistan is set to make history in sports by launching its first-ever professional franchise volleyball league. The Pakistan National League (PNL) will begin on July 19 and run until August 5, 2026, in Lahore.

According to the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), the league will feature six franchises. Each team will include top local talent along with international players. This professional setup is expected to raise the standard of volleyball in the country and create better career opportunities for athletes.

The introduction of a franchise-based league is being seen as a game-changer for the sport. Officials believe it will help discover new talent, increase competition, and attract large numbers of fans. Plans for sponsorships and live broadcasting are also being finalized to make the event more exciting and widely watched.

Volleyball has a big following in Pakistan, especially in schools, colleges, and the armed forces, but it has lacked a strong professional structure until now. This league aims to change that by bringing modern management, better facilities, and financial support for players.

Sports lovers and analysts have welcomed the announcement. Many hope this step will help Pakistan produce better teams for international competitions in the future.

The launch of the Pakistan National League is being called a major milestone that will boost volleyball’s popularity across the country.
