PAKISTAN’S EXPORTS TO EU SURGE BY 14% IN FIRST HALF OF 2024 TO $4.8 BILLION

Pakistan’s exports to the European Union (EU) have grown by 14% during the first five months of the fiscal year 2024-25, reaching $4.8 billion. This is an increase from $4.2 billion in the same period last year, according to official trade data.

In November 2024 alone, exports to EU countries rose by 16%, totaling $894 million, compared to $769 million in November 2023. Major EU markets such as Germany, France, and Belgium showed strong growth, with exports to Germany increasing by 20%. Other countries like the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy also recorded higher trade figures.

Exports to other regions also grew, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE, and Afghanistan. However, trade with China dropped by 14%. Despite this, exports to the EU remained stronger compared to most other regions, with the exception of Oceania.

This steady growth in EU markets highlights Pakistan’s expanding trade ties with the region, especially in key sectors driving exports. It also reflects a promising trend for the country’s trade performance.
