The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide weather alert as pre-monsoon rains are expected across Pakistan from June 28 to July 3.
According to the NDMA, heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms may affect several parts of the country, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and parts of Balochistan and Sindh.
The authority warned that heavy downpours could trigger flash floods, urban flooding, landslides in hilly areas, and damage to weak buildings.
Provincial disaster management authorities and local administrations have been directed to stay on high alert and ensure emergency teams are ready to respond.
Travelers have also been advised to check weather conditions before leaving for mountainous regions.
The NDMA urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather, stay away from rivers and flood-prone areas, and follow official weather updates.
Citizens are encouraged to use the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert App for the latest warnings and safety information.
