The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan extended warm wishes to the Pakistani people on the country’s 79th Independence Day, celebrating the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and the United States.
U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker, along with the U.S. Embassy, shared a special message for Pakistanis across the country. The message congratulated the people of Pakistan and expressed good wishes on the national occasion.
The embassy recalled that the United States was among the first countries to recognise Pakistan after the country gained independence in 1947. It also highlighted the long history of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
According to the message, relations between Pakistan and the United States have continued to develop and become stronger over the decades. The two countries have maintained engagement in several areas and have shared longstanding ties between their people.
The U.S. mission also expressed its hopes for a peaceful and prosperous future for Pakistan. It wished Pakistani citizens peace, happiness and prosperity and encouraged them to enjoy the national celebrations with their families and loved ones.
The message concluded with the warm and familiar Pakistani Independence Day greeting, “Jashn-e-Azadi Mubarak!”
The message was shared as Pakistanis nationwide marked August 14 with flag-hoisting ceremonies, patriotic programs, festive decorations and public gatherings. The U.S. Embassy’s greeting added an international touch to the celebrations while emphasizing the longstanding friendship and ties between Pakistan and the United States.
