An Arab media activist and analyst has praised Iran’s strength against long-term sanctions. He said the world imposed sanctions on Iran for 47 years but failed to break the country. However, when Iran applied counter-sanctions for just 25 days, the world quickly bent and sought an agreement.

This comment comes after recent diplomatic breakthroughs between Iran and the United States. Following weeks of regional tensions and a short conflict, both sides signed a memorandum of understanding. The deal includes the release of $12 billion in frozen Iranian assets and steps to ease tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has faced US and international sanctions since 1979, after the Islamic Revolution and the hostage crisis. These measures targeted its oil exports, banking, and economy. Despite heavy pressure, Iran developed its “economy of resistance,” focusing on local production and alternative trade partners like China and Russia.

The analyst’s statement highlights Iran’s ability to withstand decades of sanctions. In contrast, recent events showed how quickly global markets and countries reacted when Iran restricted oil flows or used other leverage during the short crisis period. Many experts note that the world economy depends heavily on stable oil supplies from the Gulf region.
