Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in cybersecurity, marking another step in the expanding strategic partnership between the two countries.
The agreement was signed between Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and Saudi Arabia’s National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) during the LEAP 2026 technology conference in Riyadh. The conference was held from August 31 to September 3 and brought together major technology companies, startups and investors.
Under the MoU, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will cooperate on protecting cyberspace and vital national interests, while exchanging cybersecurity knowledge, expertise and best practices. The two sides will also work together to respond more effectively to emerging and evolving cyber threats.
The agreement is expected to improve coordination between the two countries in dealing with cyberattacks and other digital security challenges. It will also support the development of stronger cybersecurity capabilities through greater information and expertise sharing.
The latest agreement adds a digital security dimension to the longstanding Pakistan-Saudi relationship, which has expanded across security, technology and economic sectors.
The cooperation comes as both countries increasingly recognize the importance of protecting government systems, critical infrastructure and digital services from sophisticated cyber threats.
