The Karachi Traffic Police has introduced a new digital initiative, the ‘Track Citizen’ app, designed to make traffic enforcement smarter and more accessible for drivers. The app allows users to instantly receive e-challan notifications and view traffic violations linked to their registered vehicles in real time.
Available for both Android and iPhone users, the app not only sends immediate alerts about fines but also provides real-time warnings and e-tickets for any traffic rule violations. This digital system ensures greater transparency and convenience, helping drivers stay informed and responsible on the road.
The launch has already shown significant results. Within just six hours, the traffic police recorded Rs12.5 million in fines issued for 2,662 violations, reflecting the system’s effectiveness in promoting discipline and accountability among motorists.
DIG Traffic Syed Pir Muhammad Shah praised the initiative as a major milestone in Karachi’s journey toward modernized traffic management. He noted that the app will help improve road safety, reduce manual paperwork, and enhance digital enforcement across the city.
The ‘Track Citizen’ app represents a forward-thinking step by Karachi’s traffic authorities, combining technology with public service. By allowing citizens to monitor their traffic records easily, it encourages safer driving habits and builds trust between law enforcement and the public.
With this move, Karachi is setting an example for other cities in Pakistan to follow in adopting smart traffic solutions for a safer and more efficient urban environment.
