A major new step has been announced for the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, where all mosques will now follow a unified system for Azaan and Salah timings. The decision was made by the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs in consultation with leading Islamic scholars from different schools of thought.
Under this plan, a single coordinated prayer calendar will be released soon. This means that mosques across both cities will offer prayers at the same time, helping reduce confusion among worshippers. Many citizens often face difficulty due to slight differences in prayer schedules, and the new system aims to solve this issue.
Authorities have also approved a system of unified Friday sermon topics. These weekly themes will focus on important issues such as unity, social reform, character building, and guidance for the youth. The goal is to use the Friday pulpit to spread positive messages that can help strengthen society.
The initiative also includes improved mosque management and stronger security guidelines. Officials say new legislation is being prepared to make the system official and ensure smooth implementation. Committees will also be formed to support mosque administrations and resolve any concerns.
According to government representatives, this unified system will promote harmony among communities, encourage discipline in prayer routines, and create a sense of togetherness across the twin cities. They believe that if successful, this model could be introduced in other parts of Pakistan as well.
The announcement has been welcomed by many worshippers who hope it will bring better coordination, peace, and unity within the community.
