Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a major campaign to help citizens recover their illegally occupied land and properties. She has assured people that cases will now be resolved within days instead of taking months or years.

Through social media posts, CM Maryam urged anyone facing illegal occupation of their property to submit applications to the relevant Deputy Commissioner office, promising quick decisions. She emphasized that every piece of land in Punjab, whether a marla, kanal, or acre, should be in the hands of its rightful owner.

Officials reported that 2,919 applications against illegal occupation were received over the past three weeks, with 499 already resolved by District Dispute Resolution Committees. The Chief Minister has given special priority to cases involving widows’ properties, recognizing that vulnerable women often become victims of land grabbers.

Maryam Nawaz directed all Deputy Commissioners to hold daily review meetings to monitor progress on these cases and ordered Assistant Commissioners in every tehsil to accept land-grabbing complaints. She will personally oversee the entire campaign to ensure its effectiveness.

The Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction over delays in resolving cases from districts including Gujrat, Layyah, and Hafizabad, warning officials that negligence would not be tolerated. She has mandated full enforcement of Ordinance 2025, which provides a strong legal framework for dealing with illegal occupation.

To ensure public awareness, announcements about this government initiative will be made in mosques across Punjab. The Chief Minister stressed that possession will be granted immediately upon decisions, with no influence from recommendations or political pressure.

Maryam Nawaz stated that her office is a responsibility, not a source of power, and she remains committed to providing immediate relief to citizens suffering from property disputes.
