British-Pakistani Female Rider Guliafshan Tariq Travels to Pakistan from London to Lahore on her Motorbike

by Mahnoor Arif

British‑Pakistani biker Guliafshan Tariq has made a historic journey from London to Lahore on her motorbike, becoming the first woman to complete this long trip. She left the UK to raise awareness about women’s rights in Pakistan and to show that women can do big things when they are determined.

Tariq lives in Manchester with her husband and her three‑year‑old daughter. Before she started the ride, she said her goal is to send a strong message about women’s strength and freedom, especially for women in rural areas who face more challenges in life.

A group of international bikers met her at a bikers’ cafe in London before she left. They cheered her on, shared travel tips, and wished her luck for the long trip ahead. Many of these riders have traveled through Pakistan before and offered advice based on their experiences.

Tariq is also known in the UK biker community for other big journeys. She has set records in the past and loves long, challenging rides. Her journey to Pakistan will take her through several countries and across many miles of road and different weather.

Her ride is part of a wider push for women to take space in areas where they were once told they could not go. It has drawn support from riders and women who see it as a symbol of courage and change.
