India has raised concerns over France’s decision to export Rafale fighter jets to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Reports suggest that both Gulf nations may allow Pakistani and Turkish pilots to train on Rafale and Mirage aircraft, sparking unease within the Indian Air Force (IAF).
According to Indian media, officials fear that such training could lead to the exposure of sensitive operational tactics and aircraft capabilities. India operates Rafale jets as a key part of its defense system, and any potential knowledge sharing with other nations could pose security risks.
The issue has reportedly been discussed at high levels within India’s defense establishment. Experts warn that even limited access to Rafale systems by non-allied pilots could compromise India’s combat strategies. They stress that safeguarding confidential data and flight parameters must remain a top priority.
France, however, maintains that all defense exports follow strict security protocols and end-user agreements. The French government has not confirmed any direct involvement of Pakistani or Turkish pilots in such training programs.
