Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir received a guard of honor during his official visit to Libya, marking an important step in strengthening defence ties between the two countries. According to ISPR, Field Marshal Asim Munir held high-level meetings with Libyan Armed Forces Commander in Chief Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar and Deputy Commander in Chief Lt Gen Saddam Khalifa Haftar. During the discussions, both sides reviewed matters of mutual interest, including defence collaboration, training, and capacity building.
Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to deepen defence cooperation with Libya. He highlighted Pakistan’s experience in professional military training, counterterrorism, and peacekeeping missions, and expressed willingness to share expertise for mutual benefit.
Libyan leadership praised the professionalism, discipline, and operational experience of Pakistan’s armed forces.
