Lahore Qalandars Set Target of 135 Runs Against Quetta Gladiators in PSL

by Mahnoor Arif

Lahore Qalandars posted a modest total of 135 runs and set a target of 136 runs for Quetta Gladiators in a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 match.

Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to bat first, but they struggled on a difficult “two-paced” pitch at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The batting lineup could not build strong partnerships and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Haseebullah Khan, the wicketkeeper-batsman, played the anchor role and scored a patient 33 runs off 37 balls. Fakhar Zaman provided a quick start with 20 runs off 11 balls, while Usama Mir gave a late flourish, smashing 22 runs off just 7 deliveries, including three sixes. The rest of the batting order failed to perform, resulting in a below-par total.

Quetta Gladiators’ bowling attack was impressive. Usman Tariq was the star performer, taking 3 wickets for 18 runs. Jahandad Khan also claimed 3 wickets for 35 runs, while West Indian fast bowler Alzarri Joseph picked up 2 wickets for 41 runs. Their disciplined bowling restricted Lahore Qalandars throughout the innings.

This is a crucial match for both teams in the PSL 2026 points table. Quetta Gladiators now need 136 runs to win. Given the low target and their strong bowling performance, Quetta will be confident of chasing it down.

However, the pitch is tricky, and Lahore Qalandars will look to defend the total with their experienced bowling attack. The match remains open, and the second innings is expected to be exciting.
