Europe has “Maybe Six Weeks of Jet Fuel Left”

by Mahnoor Arif

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has issued a serious warning that Europe may have only around six weeks of jet fuel left if the current supply disruptions from the Middle East continue.

The alarming situation has arisen after the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for oil and fuel shipments, was effectively closed due to the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran. This has severely affected fuel supplies to Europe, which depends heavily on imports from the Gulf region.

According to the IEA, Europe is now facing a major shortage of jet fuel (aviation fuel). The agency stated that if the situation does not improve quickly, many European countries could run critically low on fuel needed for commercial flights.

The warning has raised serious concerns about the upcoming peak summer travel season. Analysts fear that if alternative supplies are not arranged in time, it could lead to flight delays, cancellations, and higher ticket prices across Europe.

European governments and airlines are now urgently seeking to secure jet fuel from alternative sources, particularly in the United States and other regions. However, experts say that replacing the large volumes usually supplied through the Strait of Hormuz will be extremely difficult and expensive in the short term.

The IEA has urged European countries to take immediate steps to manage fuel stocks carefully and explore all possible options to avoid a major aviation crisis.
