Mohsin Nawaz has created history by becoming the first shooting athlete in Pakistan to receive the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. President Asif Ali Zardari presented the civil award to him during the national awards ceremony held in Islamabad.
This honour is a big milestone for shooting sports in Pakistan. Mohsin Nawaz is a top F-Class long-range shooter who has proudly represented Pakistan in many international competitions. He has won several medals in prestigious events held in the United States, Europe, and South Africa.
While receiving the award, Mohsin dedicated it to all aspiring athletes, especially those in less popular sports like shooting. He thanked his family, coaches, and supporters for their continuous encouragement. He also highlighted the challenges faced by shooters in Pakistan and called for better training facilities, modern equipment, and more government support so that Pakistani shooters can compete successfully at the global level.
