Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited has taken a major step towards green energy by launching a biogas plant and a large solar power system at its Karachi manufacturing facility.
The company has installed a 100 cubic meter per day biogas plant and a 920kW solar power system. Both projects are now fully operational. The biogas plant uses Napier grass and waste from the company’s cafeteria to produce clean energy. The solar system is expected to generate around 1.39 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity every year.
According to Pak Suzuki officials, this initiative will significantly reduce the company’s reliance on fossil fuels and help lower carbon emissions. It is part of the company’s broader commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly manufacturing practices.
This move supports Pakistan’s national goals of increasing renewable energy and achieving carbon neutrality in the industrial sector. By investing in biogas and solar power, Pak Suzuki is setting an example for other industries to follow.
The project is also expected to bring long-term cost savings on electricity and contribute to a cleaner environment.
