1,814 Pakistanis Return from Iran Amid Regional Tensions

As tensions rise in the region, over 1,800 Pakistani citizens have returned home from Iran to the Chagai district in Balochistan. Among them are 428 religious pilgrims, 655 students, 566 tourists, 160 deported individuals, and five foreign nationals.

The return comes amid growing concerns about safety due to the worsening situation between Iran and its regional rivals. Local authorities at the Taftan border crossing have made arrangements to ensure the safe arrival and care of the returnees. Officials confirmed that 112 tourists and 24 students crossed the border at Taftan over the weekend.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar addressed the situation and confirmed that the government is making all-out efforts to bring back stranded Pakistanis not only from Iran but also from Iraq, where many citizens remain stuck due to airspace closures.

To help with the evacuation, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has launched special flights. One such flight has already transported passengers from Mashhad, Iran, to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. More flights are planned in the coming days to ensure every stranded citizen can return safely.

Authorities have assured the public that medical care, food, and transport are being provided to those arriving from the affected areas. This timely response reflects Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to protect its citizens during global crises.

The situation remains tense, but the government has promised to continue monitoring developments closely and take swift action when needed to ensure the safety and well-being of its people abroad.
