Pakistan-Iran Business Visa Facility Restored at Taftan Border

by Mahnoor Arif

Pakistan has restored the business visa facility for travel to Iran at the Taftan border crossing. This brings major relief to traders after nearly one year of suspension.

The Taftan-Mirjaveh route in Balochistan’s Chagai district will now allow only registered traders with valid business visas to cross. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will operate the immigration gate on a limited basis. The decision came through a notification from the Balochistan Home Department.

The facility was suspended earlier due to regional security concerns and other issues. Many traders have faced difficulties in conducting cross-border business. The restoration is seen as a positive step to revive commercial activity between Pakistan and Iran.

Traders across the region have welcomed the move. They say it will boost trade, create employment opportunities, and strengthen economic ties between the two neighbouring countries. Local businesses are hopeful that regular movement will help lower the prices of goods and improve livelihoods in border areas.

Officials say the facility will be managed carefully to ensure security while supporting legitimate trade. This development is expected to play an important role in promoting Pakistan-Iran economic cooperation.
