Chinese Firms Plan to Develop Pakistan’s Copper Sector

by Mahnoor Arif

Loads Limited, a well-known Pakistani manufacturer of radiators and auto components, is taking a big step into the copper industry. The company has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China’s Anhui Xinhuida New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (Xinhuida) to explore joint ventures and growth opportunities in Pakistan’s copper sector.

According to a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the partnership will focus on copper trading, processing, manufacturing, exports, and possible acquisitions. Both companies also plan to work on advanced copper materials, technology transfer, supply chain development, and new manufacturing facilities.

Xinhuida is a strong Chinese player in recycled copper rods, cables, EV wiring systems, energy infrastructure, and other high-tech copper products. The two sides will first start with trading and supply chain activities while studying bigger investments in Pakistan.

This move is expected to boost Pakistan’s copper industry, create jobs, bring modern technology, and support export growth. However, Loads Limited has clearly stated that discussions are still at an early stage. No final agreement has been reached, and any deal will need proper approvals and due checks.
