M-2 Motorway Gets ultra-fast EV Charging Station at Chakri, Kallar Kahar, Bhera, and Sial Mor Service Areas

Pakistan has taken another step toward promoting electric vehicles (EVs) with the installation of ultra-fast charging stations at four major motorway service areas. The new charging points are now available at Chakri, Kallar Kahar, Bhera, and Sial Morr, making long-distance travel easier for EV owners.

The project is aimed at improving charging infrastructure along one of the country’s busiest motorway routes. Drivers can now recharge their vehicles during rest stops without making long detours in search of charging facilities.

The ultra-fast chargers are designed to reduce waiting times, allowing many electric vehicles to regain a significant amount of battery power in a much shorter period than conventional chargers.

The new stations are expected to encourage more people to switch to electric vehicles by addressing one of the biggest concerns among potential buyers—access to reliable charging facilities during long journeys.

Officials say expanding the EV charging network is part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to support clean transportation, reduce fuel imports and lower carbon emissions.

More charging stations are expected to be added across the national highway and motorway network as the number of electric vehicles continues to grow.

Industry experts believe better charging infrastructure will help build confidence among EV users while supporting the government’s environmental goals.

They also say the availability of fast chargers at key service areas will make intercity travel more convenient and practical.

The latest development marks another milestone in Pakistan’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation, providing motorists with improved access to modern charging technology across the motorway network.
