In a high-stakes South Asia qualifier held this week, Pakistan’s national esports squad defeated India to book their place at the Esports Nations Cup 2026.

The best-of-five series wrapped up 3-1 in favor of Pakistan, marking their first qualification for the global tournament since its expansion to 32 nations.

The match opened with India taking the first map in a tight round, but Pakistan responded immediately. Led by captain Ali “Arrow” Raza, the team adapted their strategy and dominated the next three maps with sharp coordination and clutch plays. Raza closed game four with a standout performance, earning “Player of the Series” honors.

Coach Sara Malik credited the win to months of structured boot camps in Lahore and Islamabad. “Our players stayed disciplined under pressure. This wasn’t just about mechanics. It was teamwork, communication, and reading the opponent,” she said after the match.

With the result, Pakistan joins Japan, South Korea, and Turkey as the fourth team confirmed from the Asia region. The Esports Nations Cup 2026 will be hosted in Riyadh this November, featuring a $4 million prize pool across multiple titles.

Fans across Pakistan celebrated online, with #PakEsports trending nationwide. The Pakistan Esports Federation announced plans to host community watch parties during the main event and launch school-level tournaments to build talent for 2027.

India will get a second chance through the Last Chance Qualifier in August, keeping regional rivalry alive.
